Embird Alphabets

The software for Embird Alphabets is included in the Embird 2008 basic download. However, you must download and install each Alphabet that you intend to use.  You may choose do download all the Alphabets at once, or download only selected alphabets one at a time. Either way, you must purchase a separate registration for each alphabet you intend to use.

Alphabets enables the embroiderer or digitizer to create embroidered lettering by typing text, setting characteristics of the lettering (dimensions, proportions, stitch density, fill pattern and more). You can insert the lettering into either Studio or Editor, where you can combine it with other elements of a design, or edit it further.  Alphabets is different from Font Engine in that each Embird Alphabet has been carefully created for the specific purpose of digitizing lettering for embroidery.

•   Most Alphabets can be scaled from approximately 0.2 inches to 3.15 inches for a lower-case "a". (4.5 mm to 8 cm).

•  You can select various types of connections between letters.

• Automatic tie-on and tie-off stitches prevent unraveling.

•  Automatic simplification of serif for small letters avoids potential thread breaks.

•  Automatic adjustment of underlay responds to letter sizes.

•  You can manually adjust underlay to adapt to various fabrics.

•  You can adjust sewing parameters for the whole project or for individual letters.

•  Lettering may be placed on adjustable curves, arches and circles.

•  Adjustable envelope function can shape lettering into "word art".
